Caldas Novas – The largest hydrothermal spring complex in the world
One of the most sought after tourist destinations in Brazil is Caldas Novas, which is located in the state of Goiás, and is highly sought after for its thermal waters that come out of the ground at 58°C and maintain an average temperature of 32°C.

As many tourists go to Caldas Novas in search of the famous thermal waters, hoteliers invest a lot in their swimming pools and, as a result, many tourists end up staying in hotels for a long time. But Caldas Novas has great places to visit during your trip and because it is a small region, with just over 85,000 inhabitants, it is possible to visit all the tourist attractions in a few days.
Mestre Orlando Square
Mestre Orlando Square is an iconic meeting point in the city, visited by locals and tourists alike. This is where the Matriz Church is located, which was inaugurated in 1850. At night, the place receives craftsmen, several street vendors and many people who frequent the area, as right in front of the square is the Calçadão Orcalino Santos, which has several bars and restaurants.
Casarão dos Gonzaga
Historical and cultural heritage of Caldas Novas, the Casarão dos Gonzaga, is a colonial-style building and was one of the first houses in the city. The residence preserves a collection of old objectives keeping them with the characteristics of the time and today it houses the Craftsman Support Center. At Casarão you can buy some products from local artisans.
Corumbá Lake
Full of nature and with a beautiful view, Lake Corumbá is a great option for water sports practitioners and for those who like to go on a speedboat, boat or Jet ski. It has great bars along the waterfront.
Serra de Caldas Novas State Park
And for those who love nature and don’t see a problem with taking a good walk, Serra de Caldas Novas State Park is always a great option. The State Park is just 5 km away from the city center and has two trails, with beautiful rewards at the end of each one, and a museum.

It is easy to get to the Park as the entire path is paved. Leaving the GO-309, which is the urban section in Caldas Novas, you will travel approximately 3 km and you will already be in the Park.
The Cascatinha trail, which lasts around half an hour of walking, is one of the most popular and those who follow it will have the opportunity to see a beautiful waterfall with a drop of 4 meters, while on the Paredão Trail the reward is another beautiful waterfall with 6 meters drop. In both, natural pools are formed where you can relax from the walk, and it is also possible to reach the Mirante, where you can have a panoramic view of the city.
At the museum exhibits stuffed animals from the region and is great entertainment.
To get to Caldas Novas by plane, it is good to remember that the city’s airport is small and the travel offers are not great, but it receives regular flights from Gol and Azul companies. The airport is about 3 km from the city center, making it very easy for visitors to reach their hotels and inns.
